Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

IBS is a common chronic long-term condition of the digestive system. Between 10-12 percent of the population suffer from IBS at some point in their lives. It can cause stomach cramps, bloating, diarrhoea and constipation.

IBS can affect any gender, but it is more common in women than men. IBS can lead to anxiety and depression. However, anxiety and depression can often increase the symptoms of IBS. Hypnotherapy can be applied in two ways: Firstly in helping to relive the immediate symptom and secondly to identify and alleviate any underlying psychological causes. Looking into your lifestyle, diet and using a combination of hypnotherapy and Hill-Patel method can reduce or prevent an attack permanently. Please ensure that you contact your GP and that a diagnosis has been made and confirmed before receiving hypnotherapy, as there may be an underlying medical issue(s).
