Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing and wellbeing.

Reiki treats the whole person; including: body, emotions, mind and spirit to induce a sense of relaxation, feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self improvement. It works in conjunction with all medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. Reiki is not dependent on one’s intellectual capacity or spiritual development and therefore is available to everyone.
We have 7 main chakras that most people know from diagrams and pictures. The chakras are the centres in our bodies, in which energy flows through. Each chakra has its’ own colour. There are actually 114 Chakras.
When the energies meet at different points in the body, they form a triangle. This triangle is called a chakra, which means wheel. We call it a wheel because it symbolises growth and movement.
While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. Hands are placed lightly on or over a patient’s body to facilitate the process of healing. Reiki is vital energy, which can be channelled to support the bodies’ natural ability to heal itself. Reiki can do no harm, the worst it can do is nothing. We often give ourselves Reiki without realising it. For example, when we hurt our toe, finger or knee we instinctively hold on to it until the pain passes. This is Reiki. It plays a role in reducing pain, inflammation, anxiety and helps to reduce symptoms of depression.
